What to Expect: Your Egg Donation Journey
The egg donation process typically takes an average of 3 or more months from the moment you are matched with intended parents until the egg retrieval procedure. Becoming an egg donor is an incredibly rewarding experience, and at Fertility Heaven, you will be supported every step of the way by your dedicated case manager.

Accessing Egg Donor Profiles
Our password-protected egg donor database allows intended parent(s) to carefully review profiles in their search for the perfect match.
Occasionally, intended parent(s) may have additional questions about a specific donor profile and will ask us to relay these inquiries to you. They might also request additional photos to help them with their decision.
We will collaborate with you to create a comprehensive and compelling egg donor profile that truly showcases your unique qualities. Rest assured that all communication and correspondence throughout this matching process will be handled discreetly and professionally through Fertility Heaven Egg Donor & Surrogacy Agency.
Selected As An Egg Donor
Congratulations! Once you have been selected as an egg donor by intended parents through our agency, the next step involves completing fertility tests administered by Fertility Heaven. Following these tests, you will be scheduled for a comprehensive medical evaluation at the intended parents’ chosen fertility clinic. This evaluation ensures you meet the necessary health requirements for the egg donation process.
Confirming Availability
Once you have been chosen by intended parents, Fertility Heaven Egg Donor & Surrogacy Agency will reach out to you to confirm your availability for the egg donation cycle. At this point, you have the choice to accept or decline the match.
We kindly ask that you only accept a match if you are certain that you can fully commit to the entire egg donation process, ensuring a smooth and successful journey for everyone involved.
Psychological Evaluation
As part of our commitment to the well-being of both our donors and intended parents, you will be required to participate in a psychological consultation with a psychologist who specializes in egg donation.
During this consultation, you will be given the Minnesota Multiphasic Personality Inventory (MMPI), a widely recognized and frequently used clinical personality assessment. This objective test provides valuable insights into an individual’s personality traits and helps identify any potential psychological factors or symptoms that might indicate that proceeding with the egg donation process would not be in the best interest of the potential donor. This step ensures a thoughtful and responsible approach to egg donation for everyone involved.
Preparation at Fertility Clinic
With your psychological consultation complete, you’ll now be ready for your visit to the intended parents’ cycling fertility clinic. During this appointment, you will undergo a thorough medical evaluation, which includes:
- A blood draw for various tests.
- Genetic screening to assess for any inheritable conditions.
- Drug screening to ensure you meet our program requirements.
- Infectious disease screening for the safety of all parties involved.
- An ultrasound of your ovaries to assess their health and function.
You will also have the opportunity to meet with the fertility doctor for your physical examination. The IVF nurse at the clinic will provide a comprehensive explanation of the entire egg donation process, including a detailed overview of all the medications you will be taking. This is your chance to ask any and all questions you may have to ensure you feel fully informed and comfortable.
Egg Donor Contract
To ensure clarity and protect the interests of everyone involved, a legal contract will be established between you, the egg donor, and the intended parent(s).
For your benefit and at no cost to you, the intended parent(s) will pay for an independent attorney to represent you. This attorney will thoroughly review the entire contract with you, ensuring you fully understand all aspects of the egg donation process and your legal rights and responsibilities.
The contract will cover crucial details such as your commitment to the cycle, the agreed-upon egg donor compensation, insurance coverage, and any necessary travel expenses if you are required to travel to the cycling fertility clinic. Your attorney will patiently explain each clause and address any questions you may have.
Before you finalize the agreement, you have the opportunity to request changes or clarifications through your attorney, who will then communicate these to the intended parent’s legal counsel. Once all parties are in complete agreement with every term of the contract, you can sign and return it to your attorney, officially moving forward in the process with confidence and legal security.
Beginning the Egg Donation Cycle
With the legal contract finalized, the cycling fertility clinic will now take the lead in managing the medical aspects of your egg donation cycle. Rest assured, even as the clinic takes over, Fertility Heaven will continue to provide support and guidance every step of the way.
You will receive detailed and specific instructions from the clinic outlining all the necessary steps you need to follow. It’s crucial to adhere to these instructions precisely, including taking all prescribed medications at the correct times and being punctual for all scheduled appointments.
The IVF nurse at the clinic will provide comprehensive training on how to properly administer your medications, ensuring you feel confident and comfortable. You will also receive a detailed calendar outlining the entire timeline of your cycle, so you’ll know exactly what to expect and when.
Cycle Initiation
Typically, the initial phase of your egg donation cycle will involve taking birth control pills for approximately. This is a process known as down regulation, which helps to synchronize your natural menstrual cycle and prepare your ovaries for the next stage of medication. The clinic will provide you with specific instructions on when to begin and how to take the birth control pills.
Follicle Stimulation Phase
You will then administer follicle stimulating hormones for approximately 5 to 14 days.
Monitoring Appointments at the IVF Clinic
Throughout your stimulation phase, you will typically have approximately 8 to 10 monitoring appointments at the IVF clinic. These appointments are required for tracking your progress and ensuring the best possible outcome. During each visit, you will have a blood draw to carefully monitor your hormone levels, and an ultrasound will be performed to visualize and measure the growth of your ovarian follicles (the sacs containing the eggs). The clinic staff will use this information to adjust your medication dosage as needed.
Final Trigger Injection
A final injection hCG or Lupron will be administered approximately 36 hours prior to retrieval.
Egg Retrieval Day
10The egg retrieval procedure will take place at the intended parent(s)’ fertility clinic. If this clinic is located outside of Florida, you will be required to travel there approximately 10 days before the scheduled retrieval for final monitoring appointments.
On the day of the retrieval, you will receive anesthesia to ensure your comfort throughout the procedure. The eggs will be gently retrieved by the fertility doctor using an ultrasound-guided needle. This minimally invasive technique allows for the careful and precise aspiration of the eggs from your ovarian follicles.
Egg Donor Compensation
When the clinic confirms a success egg retrieval, you will receive your compensation within 5 business days.
